About Me

As an Anglican priest, one of the things I always found strange was to see anglican laity and clergy "swim the Tiber." The Tiber River is the river that goes through Rome and Anglicans that converted to the Catholic Church are said to have swum the Tiber. One day, after an Anglican Bishop I deeply respected swam the Tiber, I asked myself, "What does he know?" Finding the answer to that question caused me to make the decision to swim the Tiber as well.

I thought I understood Catholic teaching, but bit by bit, I discovered that much of my understanding of Catholicism was shaped by caricatures—drawn by its most ardent critics. As I encountered concepts like Classical Theism, Sacramental Theology, subsidiarity, virtue ethics, the Church existing in all places and all times, Apostolic Succession, mysticism, and more, I began to glimpse the Church as Jesus truly designed it. I came to realize what had to be done. Despite the personal cost—relinquishing my ordination and, in many ways, my entire career—I was received into the Church on April 16, 2022.

This website and the podcast it is based on is meant for those who find themselves asking similar questions. Perhaps you’re spiritually or intellectually curious, yet remain skeptical. Maybe you’re a lifelong Catholic who never delved deeply into the tenets of the faith, but now feels the stirrings to do so. Or you could be someone who has lived as an atheist, only to realize that materialism and hedonism fall short of providing deep happiness and meaning.

Whatever brings you here, I am genuinely grateful for your presence. My hope is to help you wrestle with these questions in a more structured and coherent way than I managed to! All I ask is that you approach this journey with patience and honesty. And if you do, I trust that you will discover that All Roads Lead To Rome.
